FIRE HYDRANT SYSTEM

Fire hydrant system is an important component of fire protection systems which serve as a ready source of water required in extinguishing fires. It is made up of valves which are fixed on stand pipes and pipes that are well established underground, whereby the firefighters can easily connect hose for draw of water. These appliances are fixed at areas prone to fires for example near constructed structures, roads and industrial plots. There are two main types: some tanks are known as dry-barrel hydrants, normally used in cold area and the other one, known as wet-barrel hydrants which contain water all the times.
